The original Yad Hashmona cooperative settlement was founded by a group of Christian volunteers who arrived from Finland to pursue their Biblical beliefs, and help the Jewish people to establish themselves in their old-new homeland. The settlement was named after eight  Jews who were handed over to the Nazis during World War II ( Yad – Memorial; Hashmona – the eight) In the course of time the original settlers were joined by local Israelis who shared the same belief in the New, as well as the Old Testament.

The ” King David Stables” and Horse Riding School is located in the village Yad Hashmona.

The Biblical Meal is an exciting culinary trip to the past. The authentic and delicious meal is accompanied by a running commentary. You will find out about the sources of the foods, their values and uses as well as the symbolism that is connected to them.

The Passover Meal and the Last Supper serve as basis for the Yad Hashmona Biblical Meal and will be presented during the explanations.

The meal, which guests can eat with their hands while sitting at a triclinium, will include greens, lentils, meat pottage, stuffed chicken, dried fruit and Haroset served with grape juice and/or wine and tabun baked pita.

The brunch takes place every Friday from 9.00 to 13.00 in the homey intimacy of the log cabin Yad Hashmona Restaurant and the glassed-in restaurant terrace.
